		<description>You should use two poles at all times. It will help alot more than just one. It helps with everything. My knees still hurt, but it's alot worse without the poles.

		<description>I do not have arthritis, but I find downhill a lot more difficult than uphill too :( especially when the trail is not developed. I sometimes have to go down on my butt and use my hands to help me balance, when I could go up without problem on the same trail. Like you, I find hiking pole is very helpful, so I usually carry one so that I won't have problem with the downhill.</description>
