Communication with Doctors
It seems that something gets lost in translation between doctors and patients on occasion. This whole mess with my mom has reinforced the fact that doctors are human and make mistakes.
Turns out they are thinking nothing is wrong with my mom more than dry eyes. I’m not so sure about this and have asked her to go to another doctor for a second opinion. She says she might in a few weeks but for right now just needs a break.
It’s awful when a doctor tells the patient one thing and then another of her doctor’s something else. It would be different if my mom hadn’t had someone else with her both times to help keep everything straight. But she did. So I know the doctors just weren’t clear. It’s a shame they scared her half to death just by being unclear!
Always listen to your doctor and ask for clarification of ANYTHING you don’t understand right then. It’s so much easier for them to remember and keep things straight when you ask right away.
